I am a designer, a fine artist, an interactive artist and an educator.

I have a strong foundation in design and fine art. I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in graphic design with a minor in art history at the Savannah College of Art and Design where my studies included graphic design and layout. I also have a Masters Degree in Studio Art from Long Island University, C. W. Post campus. I am presently enrolled at Pratt Institute. I am in my third year of the Master of Fine Art program in Digital Art. The curriculum includes Web Design, Interactive Media, Animation and Emerging Art. I have learned modeling with Maya, Video Editing with Final Cut, and Web Design with Flash among other things. This summer I interned at Eyebeam Art and Technology Center in the Communications department.

My education certification is from New York Institute of Technology, Visual Arts, K-12. My student teaching experience was in the Lynbrook School District teaching advertising, aesthetics, digital photography and computer art. I was an Adult Education instructor in Lawrence and Hewlett, focusing on Introductory Computers, Microsoft Office and the Internet. I have completed a leave replacement in Garden City High School, teaching in the art and photography departments. I was teaching Art 1, Art 2 and Photography including digital manipulation of traditional media. I was an active participant in extracurricular activities. These include faculty advisor to Echo, the student run newspaper, working after school and Saturdays during production. I also created the Photography Club. We had the wonderful opportunity to work with PL Developments, creating artwork for their offices, utilizing traditional photography techniques as well as digital manipulation. I am an adjunct professor at Nassau Community College, Molloy College and St. John’s University. I teach Visual Communications, Microcomputer Graphics, Electronic Imaging, Publication and Editorial Design, and Creativity in the Arts. These classes include instruction in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign and Quark Xpress, as well as art history, focusing on graphic design.

Beyond my educational experience, I have ten years of graphic design experience, including Associate Art Director at Individual Investor Magazine. My responsibilities included design, layout and production of sections and features. I coordinated the art direction of photo shoots, commissioned illustrations, managed a staff and budget as well as coordinated deadlines. I also gained extensive experience at Ziff-Davis’
Inter@ctive Week, CMP Media’s WINDOWS Magazine and the Savannah Morning News. I freelanced at Meredith Corporation for American Baby Magazine and Reader’s Digest for Everyday with Rachael Ray.

As a fine artist, my work has been shown extensively. I have shown and sold paintings in Spain and Belgium, as well as on Long Island and in New Jersey and Manhattan. I am currently represented by the New Art Center, located in Manhattan, NY, Fine Art and Design, LLC in New Jersey as well as several online galleries. I am a member of Midtown West Art Associates. I have pieces in several private and public collections, including PL Developments in Westbury, NY.
